Year 5/6 Forensic Science

24th June 2019

On Monday 2th June, 14 children across Year 5 and Year 6 were chosen to take part in the PULSE Forensic Science day held at Kingston Park Primary School and worked with children across the other SMART academies. The children learned how finger prints, foot prints, hair samples and clothes fibres are taken and how to look for evidence with these. We took our own samples and made our very own unique key ring with our fingerprint inside! After lunch, we had to get dressed with a white suit, mask, gloves and footwear shields. We then became forensic investigators to a crime scene and put all our new skills to go use. It was set up with evidence for us to collect and work out who the suspect was.
